Every now and then I have a load of paperwork at work. Normally I put on a podcast, lately deep dives into The Lord of The Rings. But in the car, I tend to listen to the radio. And that’s what I wanted while slogging through paperwork. That sent me down a small rabbit hole.
Packet Sounds
I’ve known about internet radio for while. But never really looked into it for some reason. And that’s a shame, because it rocks (no pun intended).
After trying a few different clients on the App Store, I settled on Triode. Unfortunately my local favorite1 wasn’t available in it. But it was pretty easy to add, after using radio-locator to find its raw streaming link. I also submitted it to the database Triode pulls from. So it should show up in the find a station tab for other users soon.
Being able to easily listen to the radio like this is pretty sick2. And I’m hoping that having my favorite Maryland stations just an easy tap away, will help a bit with the hopefully upcoming move to Alaska.
