So, I picked up a Switch 2. Yes it’s nice, yes the new joy cons are better, it’s a good system. But, Nintendo did something sneaky.

Think about this, digital games, with the limitations of physical games.

Good Job, in installed on both my Switch 2, and Switch OLED. But, it’s “loaded” on my OLED. So, the 2 won’t play it. I have to “transfer” it to the 2. To do that, both system need to be on, and connected to the internet. If one of them isn’t, you ain’t playing that game.

This flys in the face of what Nintendo did years ago. Making it easier for users with more than one switch to have their saves automatically transfer between system, in the background. To those users, Nintendo says fuck you.

Virtual Game Cards is dumb. I would love to see it get removed, but this is Nintendo. That won’t happen. Hell, I’m willing to bet that they’ll toss some DMCA take down request around over this.
