Got an email back from the MVA’s Personalized Plate Unit stating that they don’t allow plates like the one I wanted (a mix of I and 1) because EZ pass (our toll pass system) has trouble reading it.

Unfortunately, it has been brought to MVA’s attention that the combination of repeated I1 (ex. 1I1III1, I1I111I) cannot be made as personalized plates due to not readable with EZ Pass.

Sounds like EZ pass needs work, but what else is new. I’ll try again with something a little different (but still in the same vain).
